Crisis is bigger than that of 1971
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 7, 2008 He was of the view that Ayube Khan by introducing basic democracy system, Zia-ul-Haq by Majlise Shoora and Pervez Musharraf by introducing district government system has ruined the country. He held dictators responsible for the crisis of the country and said that their arrival and departure in power was never ever respectful rather they oppressed leadership, he recalled that when Musharraf took over the power he was of the view that he would never allow Nawaz Sharif and Benazir to come back to their country, then I had said in the response of his statement “you will contact them yourself and the same happened”.
When PPP leadership compromised with Musharraf I disagreed with that and said it is wrong but then I was declared traitor. He said that there was time when we used to compare our country with India about 15 years back but today we are on very weak footings because there was democracy in India while dictators had been ruling Pakistan. He was of the view that unless masses were not involved in govt, Pakistan would not get rid of dictators. He said President Musharraf impeachment was not being conducted just to avoid President Bush’s fury.
Khar maintained that people wished coalition government should rule the country with sincerity and conduct President impeachment. Government was not showing courage to deal mafias with iron hands, he added.
He opined that unless American intervention was not being stopped, terrorist activities could not be checked and argued that American should support Pakistani authorities rather interfere into coutnry’s internal affairs, he added.
Pakistan Forum Glasgo Chairman Hanif Raja said Pakistanis living abroad are more curious and nationalists than locals and added that our basic problems were VIP culture, feudalism, industry crisis and tax system. Unless these nuisances were not being eradicated, country could not be made prosper and developed, he added.
