Lawyers, parties rally for judges' return

One of the top lawyers leaders Hamid Khan Advocate advised the lawyers not to react against any sacked judge considering him of accepting reappointment until he would not take oath.

SCBA secretary Amin Javed said presidency was hatching conspiracies against reinstatement of judges to avoid impeachment. He appreciated the government for suspending the notification of reappointment of 8 judges of Sindh High Court.

LHCBA president Anwar Kamal disowned the poem recited in the general house meeting by Aftab Sherazi Advocate wherein he condemned PPP co chairman Asif Ali Zardari. Kamal said this could be his own views but not that of the bar. He said as both the coalition partners were struggling for reinstatement of the judges, no lawyers should condemn any one of them.

Through a resolution, the joint session declared handing over of Dr Afia Siddiqi to the US as illegal and unconstitutional. It declared it as involvement in Pakistan’s internal affairs. It said that Dr Siddiqi was implicated in fabricated cases. The government should do best to bring her to Pakistan, the house demanded. It also demanded the human rights bodies to take steps for return of Dr Siddiqi.
