Soft security at Railway Station

Thousands of people come to Lahore Railway station to travel on a daily basis by trains.

Likewise majority of people use this mean to travel to remote areas on public holidays and particularly on Eids. With such a huge crowd the station lacks proper safety.

When TheNation talked to a passenger in this regard, he observed that security system at most of the railway stations is not up to the mark, having some lapses in terms of unvigilant and inobservant security guards, required in critical condition, as country is already groaning in severe terrorists’ attacks.

Passengers present on the occasion blamed that individuals are given a hassle-free entry into the premises of the station.

They said that proper checking of all people entering the station and high security at the walkthrough gates are just claims of the railway authorities. It was observed that sometimes people enter through the exit gates without being searched.
