Sunday Bazaars flooded with flour bags

LAHORE - Sunday Bazaars this week were flooded with flour bags as the Punjab government ensured sufficient flour supply in the special bazaars and open market for the sale of essential commodity at the fixed price of Rs 300 per 20-kg bag.

For the first time there were no long queues of shoppers witnessed around the flour trucks as the government bridged the supply and demand gap by supplying thousands of flour bags at the Sunday Bazaars, visitors and shoppers said on Sunday.

The poor customers lauded the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sahrif for taking concrete steps to overcome flour shortage in the province during the holy month of Ramazan.

At least 14,000 flour bags were supplied in the Sunday Bazaars to ensure sufficient supply this week while the government also brought flour trucks from the other cities to the provincial metropolis to meet the demand, a flour miller said, when contacted.
