Complete projects at Murree before snowfall, says Shahbaz

LAHORE (PPI) - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that all out resources should be utilised for the early completion of development schemes in Murree and maximum development work should be completed before snowfall. He said a comprehensive plan was being implemented expeditiously for the beautification of Murree and provision of facilities to the tourists.
He was presiding over a meeting of district administration in Government House, Murree. Pace of implementation of development projects in Murree was reviewed in details on the occasion.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, DCO, NESPAK representatives as well as senior officers concerned attended the meeting.
The chief minister directed that the pace of implementation of development schemes in Murree should be further accelerated by benefiting from the dry season and officers of concerned departments and representatives of different institutions should maintain a close coordination with each other at every level to ensure that the objectives of development strategy were achieved for the benefit of the people.
He further directed that while implementing the projects for provision of better facilities to the tourists, environmental protection and beautification of Murree, it should be ensured that modern traffic, parking and other facilities become available to the visitors. He said that alternate recreational spots of the area should also be developed for attracting maximum number of tourists.
The meeting reviewed the pace of work on different projects including construction of parking plazas at Dhobi Ghat and Jheka Gali, repair and construction of link roads, development of parks, cable cars, street lights, removal of encroachments, horticulture schemes and repair and widening of Rawalpindi-Murree Road. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and officers of concerned departments briefed the meeting.
