Essential sacrifices

Many patriotic Pakistanis are praying for the country’s condition to get better, for it to become safe, for it to have good leaders, for the bombings and killings to end on this land. But I disagree. Our prayers for the safety of our country should be different. We should not pray for Pakistan but for America. We should pray that nothing like 9/11 ever happens again in America. We should pray that no terrorist ever enters America. If America is protected, only then are we allowed to live safely. Otherwise we will continue to die, avenging the deaths of Americans.

It would be much more convenient if we start offering ourselves as sacrifices, quietly, you know, just to save ourselves from all the hustle of explosions. That would be easier to report too “ten more Pakistanis offered as sacrifice.” Provincial and federal lists can be made for this purpose, managed by our MNAs and MPAs, who should have a role in the War on Terror too, since they are all so peace-loving.

They would make sure that the lists of sacrifices are religiously followed, and no one tries to sneak out of the sacrificial list. And who would be stupid enough to question whether or not the politicians would be included in those lists? Of course their lives are too important to be sacrificed. If they die, who will take care of our dear country?
