PIA starts inquiry into Jeddah-Lahore flight delay

An official of the airline seeking anonymity said that the flight was delayed for more than 15 hours for the reason that PIA traffic staff of Jeddah Airport issued more than 12 duplicates boarding cards to the passengers at the time of departure due to unknown reasons.

Sources said that cabin crew staff was grounded for the reason that they demanded extra compensation of Rs 10000 for over time. As per CAA rules they too were entitled to extra allowance for the overtime.

A spokesman of the cabin crew staff said that their peers were not responsible for the delay as pilot of the plane and cockpit crew had already left the plane after their duty timing.
