PU policy for affiliated colleges contradictory

The PU also warned that degrees from any university, which has not equalised by the PU are not accepted for admission. Therefore, certificate of equivalence had to be obtained from the concerned university. The PU has also debarred admission in a college for those students who have qualified Masters degree in one subject and applied for admission in another discipline in the same institution.

The affiliated colleges are cancelling admission of all those students who have secured admission in other departments after doing their MA, MSc, in one subject.

Condolence

Punjab University College of Statistical& Actuarial Sciences organised a condolence meeting in memory of former Director Institute of Statistics Prof Khalid Hayat Khan who died on October 1.

College faculty members, former directors, faculty members and a large number of students attended the meeting. Quran Khawani and Dua was offered for the departed soul. Director Dr Shahid Kamal, Dr Munir Akhtar, Dr A Z Memon, Prof Abdul Samad,Prof Sher Muhammad Chaudhry and other faculty members of various colleges paid rich tribute to the academic services and highlighted various aspects of Prof Khalid Hayat.

Exams rescheduleD

Punjab University has rescheduled MBBS, Final Professional, Annual Examination 2008. According to the notification, now the exam will commence from October 27, 2008 instead of October 17. Meanwhile, PU Examination Department has issued the written and viva voce date sheets of Post Graduate Diploma in International Affairs Examination 2007. The written exam will commence from October 28 and will conclude on November 10 while the viva voce exam will be held on November 13.
