Suspect's sketch released
By ASIF CHAUDHRY October 8, 2008 LAHORE - The local police suspect that the blasts in Garhi Shahu area were carried out allegedly by a young fellow in his early 20s with short beard who visited all the three juice shops and planted low intensity explosives. The police has drawn rough sketch of the young suspect during Wednesday’s investigations started jointly by the officers of Operations, Investigations and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police.
A local resident Muhammad Nazir who sustained multiple injuries among six others, breathed his last in Lahore General Hospital on Wednesday. Muhammad Nazir, 35, was father of five children and was resident of the Garhi Shahu. He was shopping from a grocery store when the third blast took place.
The police officers, however, are still not sure whether any organization was involved in the Garhi Shahu serial blasts.
The SP Investigation Civil Lines said that efforts were underway to trace the culprits behind this terrorist activity.
