Ulema back Swat military operation

LAHORE - Eminent ulema and mashaikh at the 3-day International Milad Conference concluded on Tuesday held at Eidgah Sharif, Rawalpindi completely advocated the military operation in Swat against the extremists and expressed their solidarity with Pakistan Army and security forces besides they vowed to resist any attempt to enforce tribal culture and own version of Islam in Pakistan dominated by over 90 per cent of Sunni fiqah. The conference was addressed by custodian of Eidgah Sharif Pir Mohammad Naqibur Rehman, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Allama Hamid Saeed Kazmi, former federal minister Hanif Tayyab, Allama Sarwat Ejaz Qadri, Sheikh Musa Ali Al Abdi from Makkah, Allama Zafar Muhammad Farashvi from UK, Allama Hanif Naqshbandi, Maulana Raja Rahab Rashid, Allama Syed Arif Shah Gilani and Prof Dr Sajid-ur-Rehman.
Speaking on the occasion, Pir Naqib said the heart of a person is enlightened by the love of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) and a person who is true follower of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) neither remains deprived in this world nor he would have any fear on the Day of Judgement.
He said Pakistan in particular and the Islamic world in general is currently passing through the critical juncture of the history. He urged the religious scholars and spiritual figures to rise to the occasion and play their active role for the security and solidarity of Pakistan besides portrayal of true image of Islam.
Pir Naqib said khanqahi system is the system of love, tolerance, accommodation, fellow feelings and selfless service to humanity besides it promotes peace and tranquillity in the society. He elaborated that this system shuns hatred, violence and teaches forgiveness while these are the rich values of Islam. He said Islam was spread through love, good ethics and behaviour not through violence. Any attempt to enforce particular version of Islam through bullet would prove counter productive, he added. He said on one call the followers of mashaikh would bring out a multi million peace-march from Data Darbar to Bari Imam in solidarity with Pakistan. He expressed his hope that Pakistan would come out of the present crisis very soon.
