ASI, 4 dacoits killed in encounter
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 9, 2008 LAHORE - Four criminals and a police official were killed in an encounter at the Dera of a local nazim near Saghian Chowk in Islampura police limits on Thursday.
The victim police official was identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Akram. He was resident of Vehari and father of six children.
Reportedly, police was tipped off about the presence of a gang of robbers at the Dera of local UC Nazim Malik Azam near Saghian Chowk.
The criminals namely Kashif alias Kashi, Zulfiqar, Mohsin and Shamshad had snatched a car from one Jehangir at Nishatabad, Faisalabad and took shelter at the nazim’s Dera.
The DIG Investigation Mushtaq Sukhera directed the SSP Investigation to round up the criminals and recover the vehicle of the citizen.
