Lawyers poised to receive deposed CJ

The deposed CJP is going to have his third visit to the city after action against him on March 9 last year by General Pervez Musharraf. He had reached the City on May 6 last after 26-hour travel from Islamabad through GT Road while leading a big procession of lawyers, political workers, general public, civil society and others. He was accorded a grand welcome by lakhs of people belonging to every walk of life. He visited the City second time on July 17 last year on the invitation of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) and it took him about 10 hours to reach the venue from the airport.

Justice Chaudhry's today visit of the Bar aimed at addressing the joint meeting of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Lahore High Court Bar, Lahore Bar Association, and Lahore Tax Bar. Thousands of long marchers who gathered in Mutlan from Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Sibi, Sukkar, DG Khan, Lodhran and other parts of the country will throng the City today to hear the CJP. They will move to Islamabad in the morning on June 12 along with a huge number of lawyers, civil society men, traders, professionals, ulema, students, workers, political workers and others in the City. On the way to the destination the marchers will be joined by those, expectedly in thousands, from northern Pakistan and AJK.
