Qadirpur Gas Field privatisation challenged in SC

LAHORE - Privatisation of Qadirpur Gas Field is challenged before the Supreme Court terming the move as illegal and unconstitutional.

Hashim Shaukat Khan, president of Punjab Watan Party, through his counsel Barrister Zafarullah Khan challenged the privatisation of Qadirpur Gas on Monday by filing a petition at Lahore registry of the SC.

He submitted the government in a bid to overcome the deteriorating fiscal deficit has decided to sell off the field and the cabinet committee has allowed the sale of its 37 per cent stake.
