Four die in separate incidents

In another incident took place in the area of Gujjar Pura police, two armed men shot at and killed a 14-year-old boy and injured his elder brother over a minor issue.

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Kashif while injured as Asif, 16, residents of Sher Shah Road. Both were labourers by profession.

On Friday, both challenged two youngsters Liaqat Gujjar and Jara for teasing a girl of the same area.

Police said Liaqat and his accomplice came on a motorcycle and started teasing a girl. Kashif who was also present there stepped forward in the support of the girl when she raised alarm for help.

Liaqat and his accomplice Jara exchanged hot words with Kashif and later opened fire on him. They also attacked Kashif’s elder brother Asif and shot injured him when the later also reached the site and tried to overpower the accused.

The assailants later managed to escape from the spot. Both the brothers were taken to a local hospital where Kashif succumbed to his injuries while condition of the other was reported to be critical.

A case was registered against the alleged killers and body was shifted to the City morgue for autopsy.

In Hanjarwal area, a 32-year-old man was shot dead by his stepbrothers over property dispute on Friday. Police said the victim Shahbaz had a dispute with his stepbrothers Toqir, Zahir Abbas, and Asghar over a piece of land. Both the parties had quarreled several times in the past.
