Court jails cop for keeping 2 men behind bars

Justice Muhammad Akram Qureshi of the Lahore High Court got arrested and sent to jail a cop on the charges of keeping two citizens behind the bars despite being released by LHC.

The court staff handcuffed Sub-Inspector Saaed Akhtar and took him for further legal proceedings. The judge has also initiated contempt of court proceedings against SI and issued show-cause notice to him with direction to explain his position on October 17.

The court further said the SI would be sent to jail unless he submits a personal surety for his release.
