CDG wakes up at last

LAHORE - The City District Government Lahore on Tuesday launched Dengue Fever Control Programme to stop any further spread of dengue viruses waking up from its deep slumber at last. The programme will start from Thursday (Today). Contrary to reports, fumigation spray could not be conducted anywhere in the city on Tuesday. Following an increase in cases of dengue fever, the CDGL planned to launch a fumigation campaign in October 22 but failed to do so owing to its traditional lethargy.

DG (Health) held an urgent meeting to chalk out the programme in his office. The meeting was attended by DG (Health), EDO (Health), DO (Health) I, II, III, Director (Communicable Disease Control), PA (Health) and other health officials. The meeting decided that the Dengue Fever Control Programme would involve three phases. “First phase will target those localities with more cases dengue fever. Second phase will cover 45 suspected areas in different Union Councils.
