Marriage hall owners torture man to death

In another road accident, in Shahdara Area, Muhammad Ali, 40, was on way to his way to home on a motorcycle with his son Amir when a speedy tractor trolley crushed them near Yousaf Park.

The driver however, escaped from the spot. Both Ali and his son were immediately taken to the Mayo Hospital where Ali succumbed to his injuries while condition of his son was reported to be critical.  Police registered the cases against the unknown drivers with no arrest so far.

FIRE

Valuables including furniture and other objects were burnt to ashes when fire broke out in the basement of an insurance company’s multi-storey building on The Mall in Old Anarkali police limits on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 and police officials said that fire erupted early morning on Saturday in the basement of Atlas Insurance Company situated near Nila Gumbad due to short-circuiting.

Rescue 1122 said that it took them an hour to extinguish the fire due to a stock of diesel in the basement of the company’s building, which later also caught fire.

The fire was controlled after stringent efforts, they said, adding that no death or injury was reported in the incident.
