Defence defenceless against rain

LAHORE - The Tuesday monsoon brought suffering to the DHA residents, as majority of them remained stranded in their homes for hours due to accumulation of



rainwater on the streets. Those who dared to come out to get to their offices faced tremendous hardships. They got stuck on roads due to the stagnant rainwater which



took hours to recede.

People saw complete breakdown of drainage and sewerage system in defence areas with just 38 mm of rain, as streets turned into canals thus making people’s



mobility highly difficult.

The DHA, considered to be the best posh locality due to its so-called planned civic structure presented the picture of lakes and pounds after the torrential rain lashed



out the city on Tuesday

The DHA Y Block, X Block, H Block and G Block were the worst affected areas while Main Boulevard and all commercial centres were also seen submerged in rainwater
