Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 14, 2008

They said that despite lapse of around seven days no action was taken on the presentation of the Young Doctors Association given to the chief secretary Punjab and secretary health about the poor condition of the health provision in the hospital.

Talking to the media men, the protestors claimed that not a single department of the hospital was in good condition to provide treatment to the patients. All the departments were lacking basic instruments and other facilities not only for the patients but also for the doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital.

They were of the view that the apathetic condition of the hospital had put a question mark on the future of the country’s largest teaching hospital catering to the needs of more than 7,000 patients daily.

One of the protestors who identified himself as Dr Salman Kazmi said that the main issue of the Wednesday’s protest was service structure of the doctors, their regular appointments through public service commission and the poor health condition of the hospital.
