VC maltreated by JI activists
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER November 13, 2008 LAHORE-Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran was maltreated by JI activists during his visit to Allama Iqbal (Old) Campus hostels on Thursday.
The students present on the occasion overpowered two of the miscreants and handed them over to the local police while a case has been registered against them, said spokesman of the Varsity.
Later, activists of Jamiat staged a protest demo in the New Campus and claimed that the hostel security guards in the presence of VC and other university officials tortured their fellows causing fracture in the leg of one of them who was admitted to a local hospital.
Angry students burnt tyres on the road which led to a heavy traffic jam.
