'Young generation future asset'

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that young generation is the only guarantee to a glorious future and better days ahead, adding that it would be unpardonable if any laxity was shown in its education and training.

Shahbaz said that there is a dire need of utilising all available resources for the welfare and training of special children for making them useful citizens of the society. The CM announced a sum of Rs10 million for National Society for Mentally and Emotionally Handicapped Children.

He expressed these views while addressing a function at special education and training centre arranged by National Society for the Mentally and Emotionally Handicapped Children at Johar Town here on Thursday in connection with World Children Day. Former Chief Minister Sindh Syed Ghous Ali Shah, President Dr Pervaiz Hassan, General Secretary Prof Khalida Tareen, members of Board of Governors, special children and their parents were also present on the occasion.

Shahbaz said that National Society for the Mentally and Emotionally Handicapped Children is rendering invaluable services for education and training of special children.
