LAHORE - Medical Superintendent of Jinnah Hospital Dr Umer Farooq Baloch is likely to be transferred while names of two senior doctors of grade 20, Dr Muhammad Javed and Dr Muhammad Hassan, are under consideration for the post of Medical Superintendent of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Lahore.
Dr Muhammad Javed, Medical Superintendent (MS) of the Services Hospital is more likely to become the next Medical Superintendent of the PIC, sources in Punjab health department said. In case, Dr Muhammad Javed is posted as MS PIC, Dr Muhammad Hassan will be given priority for Services Hospital.
There were also rumours of medical superintendents’ transfers of two other big hospitals - Lahore General Hospital and Mayo Hospital.
The health department authorities, however, denied such information saying the performance of the said two MSs was up to the mark.
The post in PIC was lying vacant for the last one month after the retirement of MS Dr Riaz Ahmad Chaudhry. His summery was moved to the Punjab government for two years extension but it was rejected.
The reason behind Dr Umer Farooq’s transfer is reportedly his tussle with the Board Of Management and some professors over some hospital issues. He is likely to be appointed as director health in Punjab health department, the sources said.
It has been learnt reliably that the Jinnah Hospital’s Board of Management (BoM) has recommended to the health department immediate transfer of Medical Superintendent Dr Umer Farooq Baloach for his lack of coordination with the hospital administration and Allama Iqbal Medical College senior faculty causing serious troubles to the patients and other staff.
