Shahbaz regrets poor state of govt hospitals

He further said that service to ailing humanity was also a form of worship and had been the hallmark of prophets. He said that availability of medical facilities to the people was essential for setting up a healthy society. He said that the main reason for the success of various hospitals being run by trusts was professional commitment of the doctors. He appreciated the spirit of service of the doctors of Ittefaq Trust and emphasized upon them to promote the same professional commitment among the whole doctors community. He said that foundation of Ittefaq Hospital was laid by his late father Mian Muhammad Sharif with the assistance of his brothers and this hospital is rendering invaluable services to the ailing humanity and earned a name for it in a short span of time. The whole credit for this achievement goes to doctors, nurses and other staff of the hospital, he added. He also lauded the services of Javed Shafi in making the hospital a prestigious centre of healthcare.

Earlier, Chief Executive Ittefaq Hospital Trust Brig Abdul Qaddus while presenting the performance report of the hospital informed that this 380-bed hospital is fully equipped with modern facilities of treatment as well as services of specialists. He said that steps were also being taken for the extension of the hospital. He said that an amount of Rs 26.1 million was being spent annually on the provision of medical facilities to the poor and indigent patients. He said that Ittefaq Hospital is among the most modern hospitals of the country. Later, the chief minister gave away medals to the doctors, nurses and other staff on their outstanding performance.
