PbBC backs Musharraf's impeachment

LAHORE - Association of Pakistani Lawyers in UK and Punjab Bar Council have jointly extended their support to the present coalition government on the issue of Pervez Musharraf’s impeachment, vowing to prosecute him on the charges of high treason under article 6 of the constitution.

A delegation of PbBC is on a visit to UK to exchange views with legal fraternity there. PbBC delegation is headed by Arif Alvi while Hassan Raza Pasha, Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi, Manzoor Qadir, Akram Khaksar, Iqbal Mohal, Zaman Mangat and Secretary Bar Akbar Bhatti are the other members. They met with Association of Pakistani Lawyers (APL) delegation and signed a declaration on August 16 at APL office in UK.

Muhammad Afaq, Chairman APL led a team consisting Amjad Malik Vice Chairman, Ilyas Gondal Secretary, Kashif Rana Assistant Secretary & Co-Coordinator of APL, Solicitors Nadeem Malik, Azeem Malik, Saleem Shah, Kabir Ahmed, Maqbool Malik and Javed Akbar participated.
