Thousands attend Raiwind Ijtema

LAHORE - Tens of thousands of people attended day two of the second phase of Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtema on Friday. The Friday prayer was offered with devotion by the participants who were mostly from the City. A delegation from Iran participated for the first time. Haji Abdul Wahab addressed the congregation while Maulana Mohammad Ibrahim led the prayers. Maulana Tariq Jamil spoke about the history and mission of the tableeghi jamaat. He said that Muslims would continue to suffer unless they start the tableeghi mission on the footprints of the Prophet (PBUH).

He said those who were away from the ‘Deen’ could not understand the voice of their conscience and therefore could be overpowered by the non-believers. He said people involved in bomb blasts and suicide attacks were not sincere to Islam. They were incomplete Muslims. He said Dawah and tableegh were the essence of Islam.
