MPAs jubilant over Musharraf's exit

LAHORE - Emotionally charged members Punjab Assembly and a gathering of workers belonging to various political parties outside the Assembly building on Monday shouted anti-Musharraf slogans, and distributed sweets after the resignation of General (r) Pervez Musharraf, as President of Pakistan.
On this occasion sweets were also distributed, while the workers were holding placards of Quaid Pakistan Muslim League-N Nawaz Sharif and former Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. Workers were also raising slogans for Nawaz Sharif as the next president.

Leader of the Opposition Ch Zaheer-ud-Din maintained that Pervez Musharraf was the constitutional president of Pakistan, and he had resigned as per the constitution. “The ruling coalition used to accuse Musharraf as the only obstruction in the way to the restoration of the deposed judges.
Now after this hindrance removed, the masses will see how quickly the coalition actualises its promise.
