President impeachment to strengthen Parliament: 'N'

LAHORE - PML-N Punjab Leader Sajjad Hussain Chheena has said that impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf would further strengthen parliament and democracy in the country.

Addressing a meeting at Mazang with Mian Zulfiqar Rathore in the chair here on Friday, he said, “there is consensus among democratic forces in this regard and PPP should not show reluctance in taking initiative.” He said the objective of supremacy of parliament and a rule of law could not be achieved as long as Pervez Musharraf was present in the President House. He said people gave mandate on Feb 18 for changing system and not for bringing new faces adding “change in President House is essential to bring an end to the deprivations.” He said visit of Shahbaz Sharif of different areas in undated by rain water speak of his keen interest in redressing people’s grievances and providing them relief with out any delay.
