LHC employees' pay-raise okayed

LAHORE - Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has approved the summary to increase monthly salaries of all non-gazetted employees of the Lahore High Court (LHC) ranging from Rs 7000 to Rs 10,000, sources privy to the development informed Tuesday.

The sources said after the Governor’s approval the summary had been sent to Finance Department for its notification, which was likely to be issued in a couple of days.

Employees of BS-1 to BS-6 will get Rs 7000 increase while Rs 10,000 would be added in the monthly wages of employees of BS-7 to BS-15, the sources further said. LHC Chief Justice Sayed Zahid Hussain had taken up the matter with the Governor at personal level and made sure that the LHC’s employees get the relief soon.
