Lawyers justify march termination
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER June 20, 2008 LAHORE- Speakers at the general house meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar here Thursday lauded the acumen of the leadership on the occasion of long march of the countrywide legal fraternity on June 13.
They said decision taken by the leadership on the spot about not holding the sit-in on the said date was quite apt and befitted the peaceful character of the lawyers' movement going on over the last 15 months for the restoration of judges and rule of law in the country. The legal fraternity has achieved the target by putting across their massage in a forceful manner that they mean business about the restoration of judges deposed on November 3 through the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) issued by Pervez Musharraf, said President of the Bar Anwar Kamal, vice president Mian Muhammad Aslam, Malik Mansaf Awan advocate, Muhamamd Tari Khan, Aftab Rahim, Muhmamd Arshad Virk, Allah Bux Gondal, secretary SCBA Muhammad Amin Javed Chaudhary, former president LHCBA Hafiz Abdul Rahman Ansari, Iqbal Haider and former president SCBA Hamid Khan while addressing the meeting, presided over by the Bar President.
