PPP committed to steer country out of crisis, says Latif Khosa
Source: Our Staff Reporter September 20, 2008 LAHORE - Attorney General Sardar Latif Khan Khosa Friday underlined the threat to the territorial integrity of Pakistan in the tribal areas as one of the several daunting challenges, which the PPP government was facing.
He was speaking at an Iftar reception of the People’s Lawyers Forum (Lahore High Court Bar) president Mian Jehangir hosted in the honour of him and Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer at a local hotel.
Senator M Zafar, the PPP-backed candidate for presidential slot of the Supreme Court Bar Association, was also invited. PPP supporters, mostly lawyers, kept chanting slogans of ‘Jiye Bhutto’ and BB terey khoon sey inqilab aiye ga’ throughout the function.
He condemned General (retired) Pervez Musharraf for what he called indiscriminate killing of Baloch brethren and their detention in the garb of missing persons. He said the war in Wana, Waziristan, Swat and the NWFP also posed a considerable risk to the country.
