Shahbaz takes strict notice of kidnapping incidents

LAHORE-Punjab Chief Minister Mian Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken strict notice of the incidents of kidnapping for ransom in the province and directed Inspector General Police to purchase necessary equipment for tracing phone calls as well as take immediate action against the criminals involved in such cases.

Presiding over a high level meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, here on Monday, the CM warned that incidents of kidnapping for ransom will not be tolerated and Police should accept the challenge of curbing this menace.

He directed IG Punjab to set up a special cell under his supervision to curb the incidents of kidnapping for ransom.

He said that the cell should comprise highly professional and competent police officers and submit its report directly to the IG. He further directed that special task force set up for this purpose should also remain alert.
