Bar associations seek lock-up of all courts

LAHORE- All the four Bar associations of the Lahore High Court Saturday sought lock-up of the courts from Supreme Court to the lowest level of judiciary, to materialise the demand for restoration of judges deposed on November 3 through a PCO of then Army Chief Pervez Musharraf.

Respective president and secretary of the Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur Bar of the Lahore High Court after a joint meeting held on finding out the shortcomings in the last long march of the lawyers and others, have sought pressure on the government to restore the deposed judges by way of stalling working of the judiciary at all level by putting locks on the courtrooms. The office bearers of the said bars told a press conference here that they would recommend to the Lawyers Representatives Conference in Islamabad on July 28 to lock up courts until the sacked judges were put back on the job.
