Bar associations seek lock-up of all courts
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER June 22, 2008 Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore President, Anwar Kamal, Rawalpindi President Sardar Asmat Kamal, Multan President Muhammad Mahmood Ashraf, and Bahawalpur President Malik Aslam Chunnar and the Lahore Secretary, Rana Asad Ullah Khan, Multan Secretary, Rana Muhammad Naveed, Rawalpindi Secretary, Malik Muhammad Siddique Awan, and Bahawalpur Secretary Muhammad Umair Mohsin and Vice President LHCBA Lahore, Muhammad Aslam and the Finance Secretary Feroza Rubab were present to brief the press on the meeting.
Leading others, Anwar Kamal said long march of the legal fraternity from all over the country was highly successful however it had certain shortcomings at the conclusion which necessitate more working and proposals to overcome the flaws as well as to create an effective coordination and communication system among the managers of the lawyers movement in future. He said the meeting has decided to recommend to the Conference on June 28 for the constitution of a national coordination committee represented by the bar associations and bar councils of the country and AJK, for deciding and approving all actions to be taken by the lawyers. This Committee would be a permanent body with a strong system of communication.
