Published: May 22, 2008

LAHORE - Following the call of the Pakistan Bar Council, city lawyers on Thursday (today) will take out protest rally despite claiming to observe complete boycott of courts proceedings.
Clashes between the police and protesting lawyers can take place as the Punjab government has imposed 144 CrPC and banned rallies and corner meetings.
LHCBA Secretary Rana Asadullah told the Nation that despite the ban on rallies, lawyers must take out rally and were ready to face any aggression.
According to an LHCBA press release, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah would address the bar's general house meeting which would be followed by the protest rally.  The bar leadership has appealed the lawyers not to appear before any court and try to participate in rally to pressure the govt for the reinstatement of judges.
SCBA, PBC and LBA also have given separate calls for complete boycott of courts proceedings and appealed the lawyers to warmly participate the rally.
LBA rally would be taken out from Aiwan-e-Adal courts and would be joined by the LHCBA lawyers at the GPO Chowk. They would jointly marched towards the Punjab Assembly.
Bars representatives said that the activists of different political parties and civil society would participate in the lawyers rally.
