Control prices within 48 hours

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has ordered administration to control flour prices within 48 hours and cancel the licenses and seal the flourmills charging more than ex-mill rate.
He issued these instructions while presiding over a high level meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, here on Tuesday.
Punjab Minister for Food Malik Nadeem Kamran, Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General Police Punjab, Secretary Food, Secretary Home, Member Punjab Assembly Syed Nazim Hussain Shah, SA Hameed, Haroon Khawaja, DCO Lahore and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister directed DCOs and DPOs to undertake joint action against the elements engaged in hoarding and profiteering of flour and no leniency be shown in this regard. He warned that strict action would be taken against DCOs and DPOs of the districts from where reports were received of the sale of 20 kg flour bag for more than Rs 375.
The CM also directed that vigilance teams be constituted for curbing hoarding of flour and smuggling of wheat to ensure sale of flour at the rates fixed by the government.
He said that it had come to his notice that the flourmills in some districts were supplying flour at more than the fixed ex-mill rate of Rs 365 per 20-kg flour bag. He ordered that the licenses of all such flourmills be cancelled and these should immediately be sealed.
