Iftikhar Chaudhry to address Faisalabad Bar today

Lawyers, including Vice President SCBA, Vice President Ghulam Nabi Bhatti, Muhammad Azhar Siddique, Zia-ul-Haq Bhatti, Khwaja Tariq Suhail, Rao Farman Ali Sabir and others inspected the arrangements. They also met trader organisations, students, civil society members, labour unions and political workers and found them in high spirits about their participation in the convention.

On the occasion, Ghulam Nabi Bhatti said that success of the Faisalabad convention would tell the whole world that lawyers were determined to take the movement to restoration of judiciary as it was on November 2 last. He said that nobody would betray the movement.

Media Coordinator SCBA, Muhammad Azhar Siddique said that lawyers would not accept constitutional package that curtailed the retirement age of the CJ or his powers. Such steps would be deemed to be taken with malafide intent, he said, adding the November 3 action was a conspiracy and legal fraternity hoped that political leadership showing acumen would not fall trap to justify the same. He said that implementation of the Murree Declaration was the only solution to resolve the issue of judges restoration.
