He said the nation would not allow the rulers to compromise the sacrifices of Kashmiris by making the LoC, line of commerce. He said the party is busy in revamping its cadre and he announced that Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a big annual congregation at the end of this year.  

One thirds of budget to be spent on edu: Amer

One third amount of the total development budget of the City District Govt for the fiscal year 2008-09 will be allocated for improvement of education sector.

District Nazim Amer Mahmood disclosed this during a consultative meeting with chairpersons of monitoring committees of the District Council, at Jinnah Hall on Tuesday. District Coordination Officer Sajjad Ahmad Bhutta, Naib District Nazim Idrees Hanif, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Raja Munawar and officials concerned attended the meeting.

Mian Amer Mahmood observed that performance of the school councils, headed by the concerned union council nazim, was satisfactory during the closing fiscal year.

Proposal for enhancing annual grant of these councils was reviewed in order to enable them for making expenditure for improvement of infrastructure of the schools, he added.

He said that the union council nazims had a first hand knowledge of local problems.
