Qazi slams govt for worsening power crisis
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER October 24, 2008 LAHORE - Amir Jamat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said that corruption and dishonesty of the rulers was responsible for the prevailing economic as well as power crises in the country.
He was addressing the inaugural session of three day Ijtema-e-Aam at Minar-e-Pakistan Ground on Friday. Three day Ijtema-e-Aam will conclude on Sunday (tomorrow). The Ijtema started with Friday prayers lead by former Imam Masjid-e-Aqsa Sheikh Sayam. Scholars from various Islamic countries, JI leaders and workers and thousands of supporters from different parts of the country participated in the Ijtema.
The participants were holding placards, banners and party flags. The charged workers were chanting slogans against the US and Pakistani government.
Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that it was a pity that hard earned money of people was going waste due to corruption in institutions.
He said that the rulers should understand the fact that war against own citizens was more difficult than the one against the US. He urged the rulers to make it clear to the US that Pakistan could not fight against own citizens for the sake of Washington.
