Irregularities in LDA still unchecked

LAHORE - Massive irregularities in leased and rented properties of LDA worth billion of rupees are still unchecked in different parts of the City, challenging the integrity of LDA authorities and Punjab government which had claimed to look into the matter within a month.

Most of the properties situated in Model Town, Gulberg, Faisal Town, Shah Jamal, Shadman, Sabzazaar, Allama Iqbal Town were given on throwaway prices violating set rules and regulations. Some property’s lease and rent could not be renewed despite expiration. Inquiries were initiated but got hushed up.
