SHC judges' fresh oath 'a betrayal to lawyers drive'

Former President LHCBA, Ahmad Awais said lawyers’ movement was for a greater cause which would not be affected by a section of judges succumbing to the government wishes. He said the SHC judges took oath contradicting the stand they took after November 3.

Former President PLF, Raja Zulqurnain said he has received the news of fresh oath of deposed judges with pain after they took a long stand on principles. He said PPP at present was playing in the hand of the Establishment contrary to its character.

Secretary General, PML-N Lawyers Forum, Waseem Ahmad Butt said the LHC deposed judges would be termed PCO judges if they too took fresh oath and the lawyers would boycott their courts. He said the SHC deposed judges have betrayed the lawyers, whose movement, he added, however would not die down. He said the PML-N took a principled stand on the judges issue and it was still stick to the same.
