After the general elections less than a year ago, the ARD refused support of the Legal Framework Order, which provides a cover to General Pervez Musharraf’s appointment as the President, with the power to dismiss the elected Parliament.
On this issue, the ARD, initially, claimed the support of the the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).

He died on September 27, 2003 after being admitted to hospital in Islamabad, following a heart attack. He was 85 years old.
