Shahbaz directs DCOs to set up relief centres

The CM announced setting up of a medical college in Sialkot, addition of 114 beds in Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital and establishment of ICU in District Headquarters Hospital. He issued instructions for provision of generators in all district headquarters hospitals of the province. He announced that Sialkot-Gujranwala Road and SialkotAimanabad Road will be made dual carriageways and directed that the project be completed within a year. He also announced construction of bridges at “Do-Bun-i-Araian”, Do-Burji Malhian and Nikkapura over Nala Aik. He issued instructions for evolving a plan for the construction of a flyover or an under-pass at Allama Iqbal Chowk. He directed IG Punjab to retrieve the land of Government College for Commerce from land-grabbers.

He sought details from the college principal about this matter, who informed that due to illegal occupation of the college land, about 2,500 girl and boy students were forced to attend classes in only ten rooms besides due to illegal construction of a marriage hall at the college land the academic atmosphere was also being adversely affected. Shahbaz ordered the IGP to recover the college land from illegal occupants as well as remove the marriage hall so that students could study peacefully. He further ordered third-party audit of all development schemes executed by Citizen Community Boards as well as immediate provision of a sum of Rs 408 million outstanding to the Punjab government regarding Sialkot City Development Package.
