Nations having love for books live long: Minister

He said that students would have to follow the rules even after lifting ban on the students unions. He said that developed countries spend 25 per cent of their budget on education and we would also have to focus on it.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said that the government should organise such fairs to attract students towards books in educational institutions and it would help bring educational revolution.

He said students were showing less interest in reading books because of internet and there was dire need to create awareness among students to highlight the importance of books and develop reading habits in them. He said that books have great importance in nations' development. Later, the minister and vice chancellor visited various bookstalls.
