Nations having love for books live long: Minister
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER May 29, 2008 As many as thousands of students visited book fair on the first day and purchased books at 50 per cent discount. The PU students in management committees performed different managerial duties including reception, serving guests and dealing with security issues. On the occasion, separate food court for male and female visitors were also established where edible items were available for them. A first-aid centre was also established where the PU Health Centre doctors and students rendered their duties. For electronic and print media persons, a special media centre was established on the occasion. The media centre briefed the media men about the facilities being provided in the book fair.
Renowned book sellers and publishers including Oxford Publishers, Dogar Publishers, Book Home, Al-Faisal Book Publishers, Function House, Takhleeqat Nastaaliq Publishers, Rabia Publishers, Adabi Publishers, Iqbaliyat, Minhaj-ul-Quran Publisher, Al-Ikhwan Publishers and others established their stalls at the book fair. A PU publication stall was also set up and it was the first among the long queues in the main corridor.
