Departmental store gutted in Allama Iqbal Town

LAHORE - Fire broke out at a noted Raheem Departmental Store in Allama Iqbal Town due to short-circuiting in power supply, as a result all the stock of goods available in the store turned into ashes.

The storeowner Rana Azhar Abbas said that fire erupted in the store due to sudden return of power supply at 9am. Resultantly all tube lights and bulbs shattered owing to extra voltage of power, he added. He said that fire engulfed the whole store, causing a loss of hundred of thousands of rupees.

However, fire brigade attempted to control the fire in tow hours, he added.
