An important problem (City Notes)
By M A Niazi June 30, 2008 We need to look at a very pressing problem, and the real reason why the traffic, when reformed by the military, does not stay reformed. And that is because of the writing of names on the rear windscreens. This does not indicate a Net moniker for messaging, as was one theory advanced. I would have gone quite happily with that concept until I noticed the names on the back-windscreens of wagons. Nobody that I know, or know of, wants to be known as Shabbir Meo all over the Net. But obviously, Mr Meo, or Mayo, thought it important enough to announce his existence to put his name, and not just a moniker ('nick', short for nickname, which would probably be something like "Bamboo123" or something even ruder), on the wagon back-windscreen. And Mr Mayo would be someone of some importance in the world of that wagon. And no, he is neither the founder of Mayo Hospital, nor even related. None of our Mayos have anything to do with the Hospital. That appertained to the Viceroy of that name, who was the only Viceroy ever assassinated, in the Andaman Islands ('Kala Pani') of all places. A very desperate act indeed.
