Cattle-free City by Dec 15: CM
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER November 29, 2008 LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said Lahore will again be made a city of gardens and its historical beauty will be restored by maintaining cleanliness conditions.
He has also directed to give salary of two months as reward to officials working for its beautification and removal of garbage and filth from different areas of the city and added that other officials of concerned departments displaying sense of responsibility will also be given prizes.
He further said all billboards from the city should be removed except certain places and strict action be taken against those involved in wall chalking. He also directed to shift all cattle outside Lahore till December 15 besides strictly implementing the law of one dish in the wedding ceremonies and said that in case of violation, strict action would be taken against the owners and caterers of concerned marriage halls.
He issued these orders while presiding over a high level meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat, here on Saturday, which reviewed various matters including restoration of beauty of the city, making it a city of gardens and maintaining cleanliness conditions. Provincial Assembly Members Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Ch Shahbaz, Rana Iqbal Khan, Mian Nauman, Chairman Task Force Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, Commissioner Lahore Khusro Pervaiz Khan and high-ranking officers of the concerned departments were present.
