Food prices up ahead of Eid

The price of onions also surged by Rs 10 to Rs 15 per kg and is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram from the last week price of Rs 20 to 30 per kilogram.

The price of tomatoes also increased by Rs 5 per kilogram and fixed at Rs 36 to Rs 40 per kilogram as compared to the previous week price of Rs 32to Rs 38 per kilogram.

On Monday, cucumber was being sold at Rs 60 per-kg in the local market while its price was Rs 40 per-kg few days earlier.

The price of peas has also registered a considerable increase and is being sold at Rs 140 per-kg from the last week price of Rs 100 per-kg.

Similarly, the ginger price also gained by Rs 20 per kg and is being sold at Rs 80 to Rs 100 per-kg from Rs 60 to Rs 80 per-kg.

Ladyfinger price also shoot up by Rs 20 and sold at Rs 40 to Rs 50 per-kg from the last week price of Rs 20 to Rs 30 in the local market.  Different varieties of apple have surged to Rs 100 per-kg to Rs 120 per-kg from the last week price of Rs 70 to Rs 80. The price of A-grade banana has gained by Rs 20 per dozen and jumped to Rs 50 to Rs 70 from the last week price of Rs 35 to Rs 45. However, the prices of A-grade grapes surged to Rs 140 to Rs 80 per-kg in the local market.

The guava price also surged to Rs 20 per kg and is being sold at Rs 60 per-kg from Rs 40 per-kg.
