HBL jump to second spot: complete double over PIA

HBL started the game in positive style and tested keeper Bilal Rafiq with two dangerous attempts in first twelve minutes to show their intention. Their relentless effort finally provided them the 18th minute opener when striker Muhammad Ishtiaq dashed through the middle and fired the ball past Bilal's right hand. It was Ishtiaq's fifth goal of the event.

But PIA's striker Shakir Lashari leveled it in the 25th minute when he accelerated onto Zeeshan Ali's defence-splitting pass to score his seventh goal of the event. But PIA's lead was not long as HBL regained lead in the next minute. Winger Aurangzeb shimmied down the right flank, pulled the ball back that created panic in airliners defence and midfielder Muhammad Ibrahim was on hand to tuck the ball in from close-range. HBL led 2-1 at interval.
