Sindh Tennis Association announces ranking chart

KARACHI - Former Davis cupper Nomi Qamar grabbed top slot in half yearly Sindh Tennis Association ranking chart announced here Saturday based on four ranking events held during the last six months.
The secretary of the STA Khalid Rehmani said the ranking was based on the four Sindh Ranking Championships, namely 7th Westbury Open, 2nd KFC Sindh Open, 4th Pizza Hut open, and first Maroof Trophy, which were played during the first six months of 2009.
Davis Cupper Nomi Qamar with highest 115 points has become top ranked player for the first time in Sindh since ranking was introduced a few years ago. Nasir Mushtaq who was on top in the 2008 annual rankings is now ranked second with 100 points, Aqeel Khan and his younger brother Yasir Khan were jointly placed third with equal 80 points each. Fast improving Syed Abbas Raza is in 4th position with 70 points
In ladies singles Seher Khwaja again topped with 125 points, Sara Ahmed is second with 75 points and Eman Malik who was Sindh No . 1 last year is now at third with 70 points
Top four positions in each category are as follows.
Men's singles: 1. Nomi Qamar, 115 points, 2. Nasir Mushtaq, 100 points, 3. Aqeel Khan, Jalil Khan, Yasir Khan, 80 points each, 4. Syed Abbas Raza. 70 points
Ladies singles: 1. Seher Khawaja , 125 points, 2. Sara Ahmed, 75 points. 3. Eman Malik, 70 points, Sara Mansoor 40 points
Juniors under 17 singles
1.Syed Zuhair Raza , 120 points, 2. Mustafa Zaidi 105 points, 3. Omer Shahid 90 points, 4. Nameerr Shamsi 89 points
Boys Under-15 singles:
Nameer Shamsi, 150 points, 2. Uzair A. Qadir ,95 points, 3. Farhan Mustafa, 85 points, 4. Talha Zubair 80 points.
Boys and Girls Under-13 singles
1.Talha Zubair , 140 points, 2. Soud Shoaib, 115 points , 3. Sanwal Memon, & Sarwan Memon, 90 points each. 4. Maheen Dada & Muaz Tariq 60 points each
Boys and Girls under-11 singles
Sarwan Memon, 130 points, 2. Maheen Dada, 90 points, Asim Allawala, 65 points, 4. Raza Sawani & Muiz Tariq 55 points each.
Boys Under-9 singles: Jalauddin Baber, 70 points &Abdul Muiz Tariq 70 points , 2. Talal Siddiqui 45 points, 3. Munib Qadir & Sohail Fayyaz 25 points each.
Men's doubles: Robin Das, & Vinod Das 110 points each , 2. Shamael & Fraz Ahsan 80 points each, 3. Syed Abbas Raza & Ali Zubair 50 points each, 4. Fahim Ramzan & Naresh Das 45 points each
Junior Under-17 doubles: Omer Shahid, Mustafa Zaidi, Uzair A. Qadir, Murtazain 80 points each, 2. Basit Gabol and Nameer Shamsi 70 points each, 3 Syed Zuhair Raza 65 points. 4. Abdul Rehman, Adil Kohari, Sarwan Memon 60 points each
